Chickens

Watching and caring for my chickens brings me so much joy. I have many different breeds and they are all unique and so full of personality. My favorite has got to be my Legbars. They come in a variety of colors including Golden Creole, Cream and Opal. They are so beautiful and they lay the bluest eggs. They also happen to be auto-sexing which is great! You can tell right at birth what sex they are. I love the little crests on this breed too.

Pullets/Hens: Chatty and will follow you around. Very inquisitive. Love their little personality and they make good layers. You should expect around 3-5 blue eggs a week from each hen.

Cockerels/Roosters: These roosters have a special place in my heart because they tend to be very much on the people friendly side. You probably won't catch them eating out of your hands unless you're really lucky but they aren't aggressive like some of the others. Of course, you will need to work with them during their teenage phase but I have some great tips for that and they adjust quickly. They are also great protectors of the flock, alerting to when predators are near. Legbars are a great choice for a rooster!

I hatch from March through October depending on outside temperature. Local pickup only in Northfield, NH.

Day Old Chicks:

These chicks will be available as soon as 3 days old. I make sure they look lively and thriving before releasing.

Started Chickens:

These chicks are around 6 weeks old and off of heat. They will be feathered out. They will not be big enough to join a flock yet but having them in a separate enclosure is perfect.

We only feed Poulin Grain food to our chickens. It keeps them happy and healthy. Of course fresh snacks are always provided too. They especially like pumpkins, watermelon, fruit of any kind, scratch and meal worms.

Please contact me to see what is available and to be put on my waitlist. Minimum of 2 hens per order as they do best this way.  This doesn’t apply to roosters.
